SAN FRANCISCO (November 19, 2015) – Hotel Nikko San Francisco announced that they were the recipient of several new awards recognizing excellence in industry practices, hotel management and culinary achievement for 2015. Hotel Nikko was named "Best Hotel in the City" by the San Francisco Examiner in their inaugural Readers' Choice competition and celebration held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Drake Lounge, Bar and Restaurant.

Hotel Nikko San Francisco also won several categories at the California Hotel and Lodging Association's recent Star of the Industry Awards held at the Annual Meeting and Stars of the Industry Luncheon on November 19, 2015 in San Diego. The hotel won the Star of the Industry Award for the "Special Events On-Going" category for its acclaimed gift give away that can be seen HERE while Hotel Nikko Controller Polina Spector won the CH&L Association's Star of the Industry Award's "WIL Connect Leader of the Year".
Vice President and General Manager Anna Marie Presutti, who was recognized at this year's Hotel Hero Awards for Lifetime Achievement as a Hotel Executive, was also honored with a CH&L Star of the Industry Award for "Outstanding General Manager of the Year". Presutti, who was the recent recipient of the 2015 Peter Goldman Award of Excellence, became the first woman named to JAL Hotel Company's Corporate Executive Officer's Board.

The National Association for Business Resources (NABR) named Hotel Nikko San Francisco one of the San Francisco Bay Area's Best And Brightest Companies To Work For ® at the San Francisco Bay Area's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® symposium and awards gala held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 in San Francisco's Japantown district. The distinction honors companies that excel at employee relations, use innovation to motivate employees, implement creative compensation programs and practice ground-breaking strategies as well as represent best practices in industries as diverse as energy, medical, financial services and nonprofit.

Chef Phillippe Striffeler, who oversees Hotel Nikko San Francisco's critically-acclaimed Restaurant ANZU and serves as the Food and Beverage Director for the hotel, was named as one of five 2015 recipients of the prestigious Antonin Carême Medal presented by the American Culinary Federation's San Francisco Chapter on November 16, 2015 at the venerable Cliff House Restaurant.

The Antonin Carême Medal program was founded by The Chefs Association of the Pacific Coast, Inc. (now the ACF San Francisco Chapter) in 1969. The program honors those rare individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the culinary profession, particularly to education and the advancement of gastronomy and the culinary arts. Prospective recipients demonstrate unequaled culinary excellence along with the highest compassionate, humane qualities. The medal bearing the likeness of Antonin Carême was designed by the late chef-artist Jean Joaquin. Julia Child, Bradley Ogden, Nuncio Alioto are just a few of the incredible culinary leaders who count themselves among the prestigious award's past recipients, and Striffeler's medal marks just the 170th awarded since its inception in 1969.
